Well it is about this time every summer, I ask myself why I planted so many flowers that I now have to water. This is a picture of my flowers. Well actually, it is my neighbors. I wish mine looked that good. I am staying busy cleaning out and decluttering while my embroidery machine is humming in the background. Sewing all my scraps of batting together to practice free motion quilting. What fun I am having. And Millie, my son didn't cook for the family reunion. He cooked for a private event for 200 people. My husbands aunts and cousins are some of the best southern cooks around.

Lemonade in the shade everyone and pick up a needle,

Unpacking and repacking. It seems that I am doing quite a bit of this lately. This is one of the many quilts that traveled with me to Cincinnati OH . This is actually my first quilt, quilted on an embroidery machine. Oh the things I learned since then. I still consider myself a fairly new quilter but I am hooked. I am always looking for a few minutes to squeeze some quilting in.

We celebrate our precious freedom this weekend with a family reunion, some of the best southern cooking, watermelon, homemade ice-cream and fireworks!

Hugs, Janice
