365 Stitch a long - day 70 - Herringbone

Lets finish up this week with a herringbone stitch. It is a basic easy stitch to do especially with graph paper. If you need to, sketch it on the paper to get you started. Enjoy your weekend.

365 stitch a long - day 69 - Spring flowers

Today stitch reminds me of spring flowers. Mine are in different stages in my yard. Some fading - some starting to bloom. Just love this time of the year. Start with a straight stitch base. I used graph paper once again. Add an orange lazy daisy stitch in the V's. Stitch a straight stitch stem and add 2 lazy daisy petals to your flower. Enjoy.

365 stitch a long - day 68 - Cretan stitch

This stitch is one I really like but am not comfortable stitching. I have to work at this one. It is the angle when stitching the left side. I have to turn my fabric every time. Always keep your thread under the needle.

Not sure what to call this stitch. It is made up of straight stitches using different threads. French knots where added to the center.

Starting the week with a cross stitch and french knot combination. It is amazing to me how many combinations and possibilities there are in the stitches and the thread colors. What fun stitchers can have!

365 Stitch a long - day 64 slanted feather stitch

I found this stitch in a feather stitch section of a crazy patch book. It is a one sided feather stitch. While stitching , I realized this is also a slant blanket stitch. You decide as you stitch.

365 Stitch a long - day 63 Crown stitch

Not sure why this is called a Crown stitch but here it is. It is a fly stitch with 2 straight stitches at the bottom. Mine are in sunny yellow for spring. I might also add something between these Crowns....

365 stitch a long - day 62 Crossed buttonhole

Electricity is a good thing... after 2 days of being without, I am very grateful for it. Also thankful the storms that passed through only took out our power.

This stitch is a crossed buttonhole. Instead of making your buttonhole stitch straight, angle your needle to form the cross. It helped to sketch one or two on my graph paper to get me going.

This week starts with an interesting stitch. The chained feather stitch. It is worked similar to a feather but has an added straight stitch between the feathers.

Day 60....wow!!! Our blocks are growing.

Todays stitch is a variation of a fan stitch.
